mix 94.9's jay kruz at lunken airport in cincinnati, ohio

WREW • Mix 94.9 | 3pm–7pm Monday–Friday

Jay Kruz has had the same pair of headphones for 16 years…and they’re still going strong.

Whether good luck or just neurosis, the headphones have seen him through many radio experiences. One of Jay’s favorite parts of the job is being able to give back to the community. He cites one of his favorite career moments as “hugging breast cancer survivors at the finish line of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It’s truly an honor.”

He’s also grateful to be on the board of Brighton Center, which helps families achieve self-sufficiency, Jay is also a proud board member and past-president at Music Resource Center, Cincinnati—a nonprofit after-school music education program for grades 7–12. Jay was instrumental in establishing the radio program at MRC. 95.7 MRC Radio (WVQC-LP) features a playlist comprised entirely of music created by teens in grades 7–12 at the Music Resource Center.

When he’s not on Mix 94.9, you can find Jay in the stands and on the ice as the In-Game Host for the Cincinnati Cyclones. Jay is “the guy” everyone goes to for travel deals and ideas. Jay has been to Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, England, Italy, Malta, Spain, Peru, Canada, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Puerto Rico…to name a few! Jay also enjoys playing hockey, collecting old radios, playing guitar and spending time with family.

'I've Been Everywhere, Man'

As Mix's program director and afternoon personality, Jay Kruz is a busy man. As you will see in this video, when he has time off, he makes the most of it!
